What we collect

Your email address and name (to run your account), and whatever you choose to add: a profile photo, headline, bio, posts, comments, photos, and memorial pages. Payment details go directly to Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. We use no advertising trackers and no analytics cookies.

If you attend a retreat, we also collect the information you provide in your retreat forms: your intake answers, a health and emergency form (including medical details, allergies, and an emergency contact), your signed agreements, and any ride-share details you choose to post. This is sensitive information, and we treat it accordingly (see "How we protect it" below).

How we use it

To run the platform: showing your posts to fellow members, sending you the emails you'd expect (sign-in links, receipts, course and retreat reminders, reply notifications; each marketing email includes an unsubscribe link), and processing your purchases. Retreat health and intake information is used only to care for you before and during a retreat, and is seen only by Angela. We never sell or rent your personal information.

How we protect it

In transit: the whole site runs over encrypted HTTPS, so everything between your device and us is protected in flight. Your sign-in cookie is protected from theft and from cross-site misuse, and passwords are stored only as strong one-way hashes, never in a form anyone can read.

At rest: our hosting encrypts the underlying storage, and on top of that we add field-level encryption for the most sensitive retreat information, your health and emergency details, intake answers, signature records, and contact details, so that data is encrypted individually with a key that is kept separate from the database. Someone who obtained the raw database could not read it.

Access: the portal is built so you only ever see your own information; your retreat forms are visible only to you and to Angela. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers.

A note on sensitive sharing

This is a grief community, and what you write may reveal deeply personal things. Posts are visible only to members of the space you post in; locked spaces show outsiders no member names or content. Please remember community sharing is not confidential therapy, and share at the pace that feels safe.

Who helps us run this

Trusted processors only, each handling the minimum needed: Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), and Render (hosting). Each is bound by its own data-protection terms.

Your rights

You can see, correct, or delete your information at any time: edit your profile directly, or email angela@angelaschellenberg.com to request a copy of your data or full deletion of your account and content. We honor requests within 30 days. California residents: these are also your CCPA/CPRA rights, including for the sensitive health information described above, and we don't sell or share personal information, so there's nothing to opt out of.

Retention and children

We keep your data while your account is active and delete it on request. Retreat health and intake information is kept only as long as needed to run your retreat and a reasonable period afterward, then deleted; signed agreements are kept as a legal record for the period the law allows. Memorial pages you created can be deleted or transferred on request by you. This platform is for adults 18 and over; we do not knowingly collect children's data.
